Bacon/Chicken Kabobs

When you need a fast and easy recipe for dinner, what’s better that something with bacon?   The grill heats while you assemble the Kabobs!



1 package chicken tenders

1 package thin-sliced bacon

Your favorite BBQ seasoning

Your favorite BBQ sauce

Wooden or metal BBQ skewers

Before you begin assembling the kabobs, heat your grill. Use a diffuser and place a drip pan on the bottom shelf. Cooking with bacon will cause flare ups if you don’t’ catch the grease!! Heat grill to about 400 degrees.

Cut the chicken tenders into one inch pieces. Take a slice of bacon and thread about an inch from the end onto the skewer. Then, add a piece of chicken, weave the bacon around the chicken and run skewer through it again. Repeat until bacon is gone. You should get 4-5 pieces of chicken on each skewer. Gently pull the chicken and pack up the skewer so that it’s not all mashed together.


Sprinkle both sides with BBQ rub. Place the kabobs on the top rack of the hot grill. Turn them over after 15-20 minutes. You can see the chicken is partially cooked and bacon is beginning to brown in spots. Continue cooking until chicken and bacon is done. They should be done in approximately 25 minutes. If grill is a little hotter or cooler, grilling time could vary.


Once done, remove from grill and lightly brush with your favorite BBQ sauce.
